Bournemouth Announces the World’s First Foodhall for Dogs
This summer, Bournemouth may be the best place on the planet for a dog day afternoon, morning, or night.
Beginning the last week in July, Bournemouth is the spot for the much anticipated grand reopening of the Bobby & Co department store .
With its nearly century-long history, residents and tourists will flock to see the building restored to its original 1933 splendor. Verve Properties, an ethical property company, have been working diligently to give the iconic Bobby & Co building a new lease of life. The Verve team has been deliberate in their quest to create a space that connects the Bournemouth community with local, ethical, and unique brands.
Opening in the first phase will be DROOL the world’s first foodhall devoted entirely to dogs. Featuring a cake shop, a “Lick ‘n’ Mix station”, and a doggy tuck shop, and a dog ball recycling centre (for the eco conscious canine in your life), Fish & Chip Flavour Dog Treats, Seaside Theme Biscuits, “Cherry Barkwells”, Dog Doughnuts and even Liver Cakes.
With the abundance of new dog owners over the pandemic, this is the destination to bring your pup if you’re struggling to find a sitter for your holiday. There are also dog friendly hotels in the area.
Visitors can anticipate a traditional ice cream and coffee parlour, Bobby’s Beauty Hall, an art gallery, and ultimately a Food Hall in late 2021. There will also be a Sushi and plant-based Poke Bowl Bar, a nail bar, treatment rooms, and female and male grooming. More elements are planned all the way through 2022.
If your dog is a foodie (aren’t all dogs foodies,) then circle your calendar for July and enjoying a dog day afternoon run to Bobby & Co. in Bournemouth.
